The Anchor Inn is a traditional old pub situated on Eastgate and serves the best locally sourced beef available. Our steaks are matured and butchered on the premises and a range in size from the modest 8 ounce to the giant rump steak and comes in at awe-inspiring 16 ounces.

Our renowned head chef Jermery Foster cooks all dishes fresh to order. This ensures that you can get the best steak possible, but also exceptionally fresh sea food, lamb, pork and chicken

Every meal comes with fresh vegetables and hand cut chips or potatoes.Additionally,we offer an impressive range of range of homemade sauces to accompany the steak of your choice. We also recommend saving room for dessert. You can try the treacle sponge and custard cheesecakes or one of our decadent choices to finish your meal.Jermery has now had some homemade currys to our menu all made from fresh produce

Worksop’s Multiplex Cinema to Open in March 2012

Bassetlaw residents can look forward to catching the latest blockbusters at the brand new Savoy Cinema on Bridge Street, Worksop as soon as March 2012.

Boasting the very latest in digital projection, 3D technology and Dolby 7.1 surround sound across six screens, the new cinema will breathe life into Worksop town centre for residents and traders whilst providing a state-of-the-art entertainment hub for the local community.

Costing an impressive £3 million to build, the multiplex will seat more than 900 people in spacious, stadium seated auditoriums.

Free parking will be available close to the cinema at both Town Hall and Newgate East car parks for a maximum of four hours, giving visitors the chance to grab a bite to eat or indulge in some retail therapy before enjoying the latest blockbuster.

The pay and display terminals will issue duplicate tickets, one to display on the vehicle and the other to produce at Savoy Cinema’s box office where the cost will be deducted from the price of the ticket.

There are disabled access parking spaces specifically for blue badge holders and the cinema has disabled viewing positions in optimum locations across each of its six screens.

The construction phase of the development has created nearly 200 jobs locally and a further 25 positions will be filled when the cinema launches in March.

Managing Director for Savoy Cinemas, James Collington, said: "As Bassetlaw’s first fully digital multiplex cinema this has been a particularly exciting project and we look forward to becoming an all-inclusive entertainment hub for the Bassetlaw community to enjoy for many years to come.”
